Burton is known for movies like The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride, so the series is highly suited to his aesthetic style.

Burton will be making his television debut with a live-action Wednesday Addams series for Netflix. Burton will also serve as a director on the series, which is said to be a coming-of-age story set at Wednesday’s school Nevermore Academy. The series will follow Wednesday as she investigates supernatural mysteries occurring at her school. Al Gough and Miles Millar will be the series’ showrunners.
