The Haunting of Hill House was a huge hit for Netflix in 2018. Creator Mike Flanagan and executive producer Trevor Macy made a multi-year deal with Netflix that involved turning the show into an anthology with subsequent seasons telling a different horror story. This year, they returned with a new story, The Haunting of Bly Manor, with some of the cast returning as new characters (Victoria Pedretti, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Henry Thomas and Kate Siegel). It appears Bly Manor was the last for now and there are currently no plans to tell more ghost stories in new seasons.
Flanagan posted this update on Twitter.
At the moment there are no plans for more chapters. Never say never, of course, but right now we are focused on a full slate of other @intrepid projects for 2021 and beyond. If things change we will absolutely let everyone know! https://t.co/WkkSwsnFlm

As Flanagan mentioned, there are more horror projects he is working on for Netflix as part of the aforementioned deal. One that we know about is Midnight Mass, which stars Kate Siegel, Henry Thomas along with Bly Manor star Rahul Kohli. Across its seven episodes, the story follows a remote island community experiencing inexplicable events and strange phenomena coinciding with the arrival of a mysterious priest.
