The series, which premiered in January on Disney+ Hotstar, follows Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and her husband Vision (Paul Bettany) through a series of wacky and disturbing incidents in the mysterious town of Westview. Blending in influence from decades of sitcoms, the genre-bending series explores Wanda’s mental state after her devastating losses in Avengers: Endgame. The show manages to be not only filled with whimsical humour, but also poignant drama and easter eggs and insights for eagle-eyed Marvel fans.
According to Forbes, the show moved up the ranks in popularity after episode six. Unlike shows on most other platforms, WandaVision has the benefit of taking place within an established universe with a built in audience.
