Netflix’s upcoming Fate: The Winx Saga recently released an official trailer. In the show, five fairies work to harness their powers at the magic school Alfea. The series is a live-action remake of Iginio Straffi’s 2004 Italian-American cartoon series Winx Club.
The trailer features monsters and spells and an epic battle between good and evil. The tone of the series looks like a huge departure from its animated counterpart. Viewers can expect to see a Hogwarts-esque school and Witcher-style monster hunting. While the series doesn’t look like it’s trying to reinvent the wheel, it looks like a fun coming of age story with a magical twist.
Fate: The Winx Saga stars Abigail Cowen, Hannah van der Westhuysen, Eliot Salt and Elisha Applebaum.
The show’s first season will be available to stream on Netflix Friday, January 22.
