Disney+ Hotstar and Marvel’s new series WandaVision, centered around Scarlett Witch and Vision from the MCU movies releases soon. However, we have an intriguing new piece of information about the show’s presentation. We already know that the show takes inspiration from a wide range of classic sitcoms such as Bewitched and I Love Lucy. To that end, painstaking efforts have been taken to recreate the sitcom viewing experience. Everything from the sets to the costumes have been laboured over to maintain the genre’s tone. Some of the episodes even take place in front of a live studio audience. Others will feature the classic sitcom laugh track.
During a WandaVision press conference (via ComicBook), Marvel Studio head Kevin Feige stated that the show will have commercials. No, the show is not trying to sell viewers products. Commercials were a part of the classic sitcoms from before streaming subscriptions with no ads.
“If this is the very first Marvel, MCU thing you’re watching, it’s just a strange version of a ’50s commercial or ’60s commercial. If you have been watching all those movies, you might be able to start connecting what all those things mean from the past.”
Besides, these commercials will tie in to the story along with characters and events from Wanda and Vision’s past, as well as the MCU as a whole.
