It has been a season of successful anthologies and the next one waiting to impress with its fresh set of narratives is Kutti Story. Directed by four big timers once again from Gautham Menon, Vijay, Nalan Kumaraswamy, and Venkat Prabhu, the film is an assemblage of short stories based on the different aspects of love, marriage, and family. Among the four narratives Gautham Menon’s Edirpaaradha Mutham and Nalan Kumaraswamy’s Aadal Paadal seem to be the most liked and appreciated from the initial reactions coming in . While Gautham Menon explores the realm of platonic relationships, Kumaraswamy tackles the complications arising out of extramarital affairs. The actors in these two shorts include GVM himself, Amala Paul, Vijay Sethupathy, and Aditi Balan- a solid cast who are receiving wide praise for their performances. The remaining two stories are Logam by Venkat Prabhu that deals with online gaming and dating and Avanum Naanum by Vijay that takes on abortion and pregnancy in the modern generation.
#KuttyStory – Anthology with interesting ideas but slightly flawed execution.
Nalan’s segment on male insecurity in a marriage is the pick of the lot.
GVM’s take on platonic relationship is mature but hits a few wrong notes.
VP impressed with a short about gamers in love.
