John Form has found the perfect gift for his expectant wife, Mia - a beautiful, rare vintage doll in a pure white wedding dress. But Mia`s delight with Annabelle does not last long.

On one horrific night, their home is invaded by members of a satanic cult, who violently attack the couple. Spilled blood and terror are not all they leave behind. The cultists have conjured an entity so malevolent that nothing they did will compare to the sinister conduit to the damned that is now... Annabelle.

Last year James Wan`s The Conjuring left an indelible fear. Perhaps, one of the most frightening haunted house films in the recent years. Let`s admit it, we still check the top of our cupboards and the dark corners of our rooms before sleeping. Just in case, you know. The trailer of Annabelle created a lot ... ...Read full review
Mia and John make for a perfect couple. Within the context of a horror film though, their idyll is almost like a precursor to the bad things that will eventually blight them. It starts soon after the above-mentioned `gift` is placed in the room that Mia and hubby have lovingly prepared for the baby they`re expecting. The initial indications of evil occur after Mia wakes up in the middle of the night on hearing a shriek from their neighbour`s home. John goes to investigate and a tussle ensues. It turns out their nutcase neighbours belong to a Satanic cult which apparently wants to summon a demon named Belial into the physical world. In order to do so, the soul of an innocent (John and Mia`s baby) would be needed as a sort of supernatural barter system. ...Read full review
nnabelle is the latest entrant in The Conjuring movie universe. While not exactly a prequel, it happens some years prior to the events of the conjuring, and features one of demons from it, i.e Annabelle. It runs on a tried and tested formula, but fans of the series will be able to predict the set pieces, which is not a good thing for a horror movie.John and Mia are a young couple expecting their first child together. As a gift, John bought Mia an antique doll, one which shed been wanting for ages. Things go wrong almost immediately, though. Their neighbours are murdered in brutal fashion by their own daughter and her boyfriend, who then attempt to murder Mia and her unborn child. The police intervene just in time, though and manage to kill both of them. However, before dying, the daughter, named Annabelle, locks herself in a room with the doll and performs some sort of ritual. Putting this ordeal behind them, John and Mia move on with their lives, concentrating on their soon to be born child. They aren`t at peace for too long, however, as strange things start happening in their house, culminating in it being burned down. They decide to move to a new city, leaving that accursed doll behind, but demons dont give up so easily, do they? ...Read full review
The premise of director John R. Leonettis Annabelle involves a demonically possessed porcelain doll that terrorises a young married couple and their newborn baby. Leonetti frames countless shots of the doll that creep closer and closer to its crackled face while high-pitched noises escalate on the soundtrack, a stylistic embellishment as cliche as a flickering candlelights or creaking hinges. You keep waiting for the damn thing to blink but it never does. Audiences dont have to have seen the film from which the doll originated - it was featured in James Wans The Conjuring (2013) - to understand the eponymous character is not supposed to be nice, because this is one freaking looking toy. ...Read full review
