This will be the most amusing piece of news you will be reading today! But this is true! Rishi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan are coming together in a film after 26 years and that so as Father and Son. We have seen Amitabh Bachchan playing a father on-screen many times, but something unconventional is going to happen in this film called 102 Not Out. Rishi Kapoor will be seen playing Big B's son in this film. Helmed by Umesh Shukla, this film is an adaptation of a famous Gujarati play of the same name, written by Saumya Joshi. The film was announced last year and the shooting was scheduled to start mid 2016 only, but Big B was busy with Sarkar 3 that time so it got pushed further ahead to this year.
102 Not Out is the story of two old men, Amitabh Bachchan (102 years old) and his son Rishi Kapoor (75 Years Old). The father wants to set the record for the oldest man alive while his son doesn't want to live. One of them has a positive attitude towards life, but the other one has no zeal for life left. The film is a humorous take on their lives. The film is actually not about age, it is all about how old or young you really feel at heart.
Apparently, the film was announced with Big B and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles. But later on, Rishi Kapoor bagged the role of Paresh Rawal in the film as Paresh was not able to give time to this project due to his commitments as the Member of Parliament. Since Big B had already committed his dates to Ram Gopal Verma's Sarkar, 102 Not Out took a back seat and the film got pushed further to 2017. Finally, it went on floors this February. The release date is yet to come out, but the film is expected to hit the theatres by the end of this year only.
We have seen Big B and Rishi Kapoor sharing screen space together many times. Last they were seen together in Ajooba in 1991, a movie directed by Shashi Kapoor. Their chemistry in Amar Akbar Anthony, Coolie and Kabhie Kabhi was just amazing. It will be interesting to see how they will look on-screen as a father-son duo.
