Biopics are a tried and tested formula for Bollywood. This formula not only charms us, but also brings back deserving personalities' stories that need to be told, into the limelight. And Bollywood has mastered this genre now. Off late we have seen some great biopics being made. The success of this genre has made our filmmakers bring more real life stories on screen.,

In the coming few years, we have so many biopics lined up in Bollywood. Here are 8 upcoming Bollywood biopics that should definitely be on every movie buff list.

1. Dutt Ranbir Kapoor is portraying Sanjay Dutt in this biopic of the legendary actor, helmed by Raj Kumar Hirani. The shooting has is almost complete and the film is due to release around Christmas this year.

2. Daddy Based on the life of Mumbai's goon-turned-politician, Arun Gawli, Daddy's trailer released just a few days back and we couldn't contain our excitement since then. Starring Arjun Rampal as Gawli, the film is slated to release 21st July.

3. Haseena – The Queen of Mumbai For the first time ever we will Shraddha Kapoor in a strong character role such as Haseena Parkar, the sister of don Dawood Ibrahim. And we must tell you, she couldn't have impressed us more in the trailer. Helmed by Apoorva Lakhia, this biopic of Haseena Parkar named, Haseena – The Queen of Mumbai is scheduled to release on August18th.

4. Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi The most ambitious project of Kangana Ranaut, Manikarnika will see the actress bringing Rani Laksmibai of Jhansi alive on celluloid. The makers are aiming for a 2018 release for the film.

5. Padmavati Starring Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, Padmavati is based on the life of the queen of Chittor, Rani Padmavati. While the film has got itself embroiled in many controversy during it’s making, it is scheduled to release this November.

6. Padman Starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role, Padman is the story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social entrepreneur who invented low cost sanitary pads in India. The film is due to release early next year!

7. Rakesh Sharma's Biopic Still untitled this biopic of Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian to travel the space will see Aamir Khan portraying the Indian astronaut. The shooting of the film is in progress and it might release next year.

8. The Accidental Prime Minister Based on Sanjay Baru's book by the same name, The Accidental Prime Minister will see veteran actor Anupam Kher playing former prime minister of India, Manmohan Singh. The film is expected to hit the theatres early next year. Which biopic will impress us more, only time will tell!
