After Peshwa Bajirao, another great Maratha warrior will be brought alive on big screen in Bollywood. Ajay Devgn will be seen portraying the legendary Maratha warrior, Tanaji Malusare in the upcoming biopic, called “Tanaji The Unsung Hero”. Tanaji Malusare served as one of Shivaji's generals in the seventeenth century. He is more famously known in history for his invaluable contribution in wining the battle of Sinhagad in 1670 for the Marathas by scaling an impregnable fort with the help of his pet monitor lizard. The film is being directed by Om Raut, who has helmed the Marathi biopic on Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Lokmanya Ek Yugpurush, in 2015.

While we have been waiting for the release of the Ajay Devgn starrer Baadshaho, the actor surprised us with the first look of his upcoming film, 'Tanaji – The Unsung Hero', which he unveiled on Twitter last night. Apparently, there was a buzz in the industry for quite some time now that Ajay wanted to make a period drama and it was expected to be based on the battle of Saragarhi, the same battle which seems to have inspired Karan Johar for his next film, starring Akshay Kumar . But yesterday, Devgn surprised everybody with the first look of his upcoming period drama which is based on the life of a great Maratha warrior, Tanaji Malusare.

At the moment, Devgn is gearing up for the release of his next film, Baadshaho, which also stars Emraan Hashmi, Vidyut Jamwal, Sanjay Mishra,Esha Gupta and Ileana D’Cruz. This multi-starrer film which is based on the Emergency in 1975, releases on September 1. Directed by Milan Luthria, the film is an action thriller, which has already been setting quite high expectations amongst the fans. The trailers and teasers of the film have been grabbing eyeballs. The next film in the pipeline for Ajay Devgn is Rohit Shetty's Golmaal Again. The shooting is in progress and the film will be ready to release this Diwali. This time, the leading ladies of the film include Parineeti Chopra and Tabu. Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Khemu, Arshad Warsi and Shreyas Talpade will reprise their roles from the previous ones. The film is set to release in October this year.
