Akshay Kumar Seen Cycling in the First Poster of His Upcoming film, Padman!

Perhaps one of the much talked about upcoming movies of the year is Akshay Kumar's Padman. And nowwhen the first poster of the film has been unveiled, the excitement has reached a new level. The producer of the movie, TwinkleKhanna, shared the first poster, featuring Akshay Kumar, throwing his hands up in air, riding a cycle. With the poster, the makers have revealed the release date aswell. The film is scheduled to release on April 13th, 2018.

Directed by R. Balki and produced by Twinkle Khanna, Padman is based on the life ArunachalamMuruganantham, also known as India's “Menstruation Man”, who invented low-cost sanitary napkins for rural and underprivileged women. He was even awarded Padma Shri by the Government of India for his society-benefiting endeavours. Padman will be Twinkle Khanna's debut production. R. Balki's last directorial project, Ki & Ka was a failure at box office. With Padman he gears up to impress the audience once again. Padman also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in important roles. After Thank You in 2011, this is the second time Sonam Kapoor has collaborated with Akshay Kumar in a movie.

While Padman is due to release next year in April, Akshay Kumar is currently busy promoting his upcoming movie, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, which, just like Padman,focusses on a social issue that needs to be addressed. With Toilet, Akshay Kumar will be drawing our attention to the burning problem of open defecation. Recently he also met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed this film. He also assured his full support to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan with this movie. Starring Bhumi Pednekar also, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha releases next Friday on August 11th.

Post Padman in 2018, Akshay Kumar will be seen in a film titled Gold. It is being directed by Reema Kagti of Talaash fame and is said to be based on the first Olympic winner of free India post Independence. The film also stars TV actress Mouni Roy opposite Akshay. Gold will release on Independence day 2018. The actor has also signed a biopic on one of the biggest names of the music industry, Gulshan Kumar, and the film is titled Mogul.
