Bollywood seems to have experimenting with the small town nuances and capturing the simple life of its people lately. We have seen Raanjhana, Ishaqzaade , Tanu Weds Manu and many more movies where filmmakers have tried and successfully portrayed love stories from small towns and created big out of them. And the latest film to join this list is Bareilly Ki Barfi. This film, brings actors Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon onscreen for the first time. Written and directed by the husband wife duo Nitesh and Nil Battey Sannata fame Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.

Now that the film has finished shooting, it has moved into the first stage of promotions and we saw the first poster on twitter with tweets from all the three stars. The poster looks vibrant, looks like a truck load of sweetness & gives a hint of mystery revolving around these young actors. The story is a slice of life, quirky ride of unexpectedness where the lives of the characters intermingle in search of ‘true love’.

Ayushmann reportedly is playing the owner of a printing press, while Rajkummar Rao would be seen as an author and Kriti as a straight-forward and liberated girl in the film. The actors have teased quite a bit on their twitter handles about this upcoming hindi film which is slated to release next month on August 18. The movie is an adoption of a french book and the producers Abhay and Guno Chopra have put in a lot of efforts

The writer Nitesh Tiwari of Dangal fame penned down the script and changed the location from France to Uttar Pradesh. The French settings would be pretty alien for the Indian audience so retaining the basic theme and infusing them with local flavours was the thing to go for. These actors’ previous films Ayushmann’s Meri Pyari Bindu, Kriti’s Raabta and Rajkumar’s Trapped couldn’t do well on the big screen in the past. It will be interesting to see if this movie manages to grab the desired attention and does well next month.
