It’s finally here! The new episode of Game of Thrones is finally on air now and no more guesses pieced together from bits of trailers and photos. Celebrity cameos in TV shows is not new but when two big entities come together, fans definitely go crazy. Famous TV show Game Of Thrones finally kickstarted and gave the fans what was due from the last year. It is the highest grossing show of all time for good reason; for some mind boggling twists, amazing plots and uncertainties. And yet, at least judging by talks on the Internet, the biggest moment from the Game of Thrones opener was one we’d known about far in advance. That’s right, the Ed Sheeran cameo in the episode ‘Dragonstone’ which came out today in the morning was quite inessential to the story but was fun to watch.

This episode had fans waiting for more than a year and everyone is drooling over this artist’s small scene with Maisey Williams, who plays Arya, in this English television series. Though in the shot he was just a boy, eating a rabbit, who happened to be chanced upon by Arya Stark travelling on his horse. His men passed blackberry wine and told stories about the futility of war and the importance of kindness, which Arya probably needed to hear after her incessant stint in the start of the episode.

The lyrics of the song read as:
“He rode through the streets of the city,
down from his hill on high, O’er the wynds and the steps and the cobbles,
He rode to a woman’s sigh.
For she was his secret treasure,
She was his shame and his bliss.
And a chain and a keep are nothing,
Compared to a woman's kiss
For hands of gold are always cold, but a woman’s hands are warm. . .”

So Sheeran’s appearance puts him squarely in this lineage of pop stars making appearances in famous TV shows and movies. It cannot be said with full assurity if this pop star Ed Sheeran will appear in any other episodes. In truth, it wasn’t a particularly indelible appearance, but let’s look on the bright side, at least it wasn’t Justin Bieber. Well, nevertheless if you are an Ed Sheeran fan and you’re in India, you should definitely check out his live concert in Mumbai this November and enjoy his latest album, Divide's songs.
