While in Montreal, Canada, Fadnavis met with Finn Taylor, the senior vice president of Touring Shows, Cirque du Soleil. The Maharashtra State Government has roped in Cirque du Soleil, one of the oldest and most popular performance troupes, to visit Mumbai as a part of the “Visit Maharashtra” initiative, which “stands testimony to the state’s focus on tourism and has been made part of the Visit Maharashtra initiative”, according to the spokesperson. Founded by two street performers, Guy Laliberté and Gilles Ste-Croix, Cirque du Soleil showcases circus styles from all over the globe. With trained and skilled artists, central themes, and incredible storylines, looks like Mumbai has a new destination for entertainment this November. The shows will be staged from November 2018 onward, at the MMRDA Grounds – BKC, Mumbai. No other details about the show have been announced as of now.
In the past couple of years, the live entertainment scenario seems to be ameliorating in India. Grand musicals like Mughal-e-Azam, Disney Beauty and the Beast and Disney’s Aladdin have received a lot of love from Mumbai as well as from Delhi.
