Written by Poorva Tamhane
Durathon is all set to be Mumbai’s first family run which is a Duracell initiative. Duracell is the popular consumer battery company and manufacturer of alkaline batteries worldwide that is known for its adorable running bunny who is often seen winning races graciously in their adverts. The Durathon run is set to take place on the 12th of November and will have an early morning start at 7:00 am.

People can enjoy the sunrise on a sleepy Sunday morning as well as bask in the sights and sounds of the city waking up. Durathon has also some interesting activities planned for participants and non-runners that will have prizes too. The race is divided up into two categories, the 5K race which will start from Bandstand, Bandra to Andrews College and end at Bandstand and the 2K race which will start from Bandstand and will bring you back to where it all began via HK Road.

With Children’s Day falling on a Tuesday it only makes sense to have a pre-children’s day celebration on the weekend with your loved ones. The participation criteria too requires one family member to be between the ages of 4 to 16. The Durathon also includes a kit upon booking tickets that includes a dry fit t-shirt, bunny ears, Duracell batteries of course, a medal and a certificate. All of which could make up for a great family picture as well.

Mandira Bedi, actress, anchor, designer and the mother of a six-year old says, “I love my family, and powering our fitness and well-being is very important to me. My son is immensely inspired by the energy of the Duracell Bunny, who will unleash great power at the Durathon, a lovely platform for every family to come together and increase bonding”.
