Femina Miss India 2018: Tamil Nadu’s Anukreethy Vas Dons The Crown

The hunt for the perfect Indian woman at Femina Miss India ended with a grand ceremony as, 19-year-old Tamil Nadu college student, Anukreethy Vas was crowned as Femina Miss India 2018. The title for first runner-up went to Meenakshi Chaudhary from Haryana while Shreya Rao Kamavarapu from Andhra Pradesh secured the second runner-up position.

Hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Ayushmann Khurrana in Mumbai, the ceremony saw 30 contestants from all over the country putting their best foot forward. Anukreethy Vas, who was previously crowned fbb Colours Femina Miss Tamil Nadu, bagged the top honour and was awarded her crown by Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar. The two runners-up received their titles from Miss United Continents 2017 Sana Dua and Miss Intercontinental 2017 Priyanka
Kumari respectively.

The beautiful women were in the run for the coveted titles in front of the judges panel including Miss World 2017 and former Miss India Manushi Chillar, cricketers K L Rahul and Irfan Pathan, actors Bobby Deol, Kunal Kapoor, Malaika Arora Khan, fashion designer Gaurav Gupta and Indian journalist Faye D’Souza.

The glamorous event also featured performances by Bollywood stars like Madhuri Dixit Nene, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez.

Anukreethy Vas will now go on to represent India at Miss World 2018 while the two runners-up will represent the country at Miss Grand International 2018 and Miss United Continents 2018 respectively.
