Everyone joins in, some carrying their musical instruments – many of the locals know to play some instrument. All the local folk are dressed in their Sunday best and are ever ready to shake a leg. One can sense the merriment all around with everyone in high spirits – figuratively speaking, of course!
Sunburn Goa is the mini version of Woodstock festival and used to be held every year on the Vagator beach in north Goa. The festival has now shifted to Pune and is a mix of Music, entertainment, food and shopping. The fun and music go on throughout the night until the wee hours of the morning.
Sunburn festival first happened in 2007 and is now the most awaited annual festival in Goa. The three-day festival draws tourists not only from India but from all over the world. It has evolved into the biggest music festival in all of Asia. In the past, it saw big names like Paul Oakenfold, David Guetta, and Carl Cox along with a host of India’s best-known musicians perform in this festival.
In the past, Sunburn festivals featured many fun stuff like a Flea market, volley court, rock climbing, mechanical rodeo bull, moon walker, slippery football, fire jugglers, make over the lounge, slippery volleyball and more.
This festival was ranked as one of the top 10 festivals in the world by CNN in 2009. It is ranked the 3rd largest dance festival in the world. It features multiple stages with artists playing simultaneously.
