Everyone’s Favourite Shikhar Dhawan Replaces Murali Vijay For The Upcoming Sri Lanka Tour!

Every cricket fan in the Indian subcontinent is excited and not just because they got to witness some really crazy ICC Champions trophy earlier this year, but for the upcoming Srilanka tour of India. Yes, Indian team is visiting the neighbours for a 43 day tour and will be facing the hosts for three Test matches, five ODIs and one T20 international. The team for the test matches was announced last last week and it seems Virat Kohli will be leading a team of young and balanced Indian squad to face the Sri Lankan Tigers.

If you all are wondering the squad for the test series, it looks like this - Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Wriddhiman Saha, Ravi Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohd. Shami, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav. Talking about the Squad, Board of Control for Cricket in India has chosen Shikhar Dhawan over the injured Murali Vijay for the test series starting from July 25. Dhawan has been in fine one-day form and not only he scored truckloads of runs in the Champions Trophy but also looked in commanding touch, batting as good as he could.

Vijay, who suffered a wrist injury during Australia's tour of India, has complained of pain in his right wrist, while playing a preparatory match ahead of the Sri Lankan tour. The BCCI medical team has therefore advised that Vijay should continue his rehabilitation program for some time and then resume playing cricket. After their convincing win over the West Indies Team last month, team India has shown some great confidence and will be looking forward to seal the series as soon as they can and stay at the top of the ranking table.

Currently, Indian cricket team stands at #1 position in the ICC Test Team Rankings whereas Team Sri Lanka is at #7 spot. It will be a great sight to watch these two teams clashing in the exotic locations of Sri Lanka and displaying some high end game of cricket. If you’re in the mood for some good cricketing action, well wait for this series to start as this is going to be enthralling as hell.
