After Akira, Sonakshi Sinha is Noor now! Directed by Sunhil Sippy, Noor is scheduled to release this Friday. Last seen in Akira in 2016, Noor is Sonkashi's first movie this year. She will be seen playing a Pakistani journalist in the film. Already the trailer of the film has been a hit and we just can't wait now to watch the movie on the big screen.

As the film gears up to release this week, here's all you should know about this upcoming Hindi movie.

1. Noor is based on the famous Pakistani author, journalist, screenwriter and music critic, Saba Imtiaz's best-selling book, Karachi: You're Killing Me. The book is about the story of a journalist based out of Karachi, who struggles with day to day real life issues.

2. Noor, played by Sonakshi Sinha, traces the story of young Karachi-based journalist, who is struggling with many issues that include her love life and professional life as well. Another issue that troubles her is her weight. Somehow in her priority list, her job doesn't figure high and is least important thing right now. How she comes across an eye-opening investigative news story that changes her and her life takes a major dramatic turn, forms the crux of the film.

3. Director Sunhil Sippy was always convinced that if any actress can portary the character of Noor on screen, it is Sonakshi Sinha. She was always the first choice for the role. Noor is just like any other girl who is a bundle of contradictions. She is a character that everybody can relate to and will love. She can be quirky and funny, but also intense.

4. The film also marks the debut of famous stand-up comedian, Kanan Gill. Best known for his popular show, Pretentious Movie reviews, Kanan Gill will be seen playing Sonakshi Sinha's best friend in the film.

5. Besides Sonakshi Sinha and Kanan Gill, Noor also features Manish Choudhary, Shibani Dandekar, Sunny Leone and Purab Kohli in pivotal roles. While Manish Choudhary is playing Noor's boss, Kanan and Purab are Noor's best friends and love interest, respectively. Each character in the film is three dimensional and the behavior of each of them will reveal something about the lead.

The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and the music is given by Amaal Malik. Noor is all set to hit the theatres this Friday.
