And the Indian Kabaddi team which has won the previous two editions of the tournament is at the hat-trick of the title this year! 12 countries, divided into two groups are competing for the coveted title this year.

India’s Kabaddi World Cup 2016 campaign didn’t get off to an ideal start as they were stunned by Korea 34-32 in the first match of the competition, but the team quickly regained their lost momentum in the second match itself, when they defeated the formidable Australians with a commanding display on the mat. India brushed aside their day one blues by crushing, the mighty Australians by 54-20 in their second kabaddi game of the tournament. India completely dominated the game right from the word go. Just after three minutes of the game, Australia were already down to 3 men, courtesy some brilliant defending by the Indians. Such was the dominance of India in the game that all Australia could score were bonus points in the first half. The players who proved to be the match winners for India were Pardeep Narwal, Manjeet Chhillar Kuldeep Singh and Deepak Niwas Hooda.
After the initial jolt, India is back to winning ways. With this win, the giants of the Sport now jumped ahead of Bangladesh in the points table and moved to the top. India will now take on Bangladesh on Tuesday, 10 th of October! To advance to the semis, the Indian team needs to win all their remaining three group matches. The form which the team displayed in their match against Australia was simply superb! Now that the men in blue have bounced back in style, they would let the momentum go out!
