Summary
Aksar 2 is a good watch if you're in the mood to see an erotic thriller. Good music, raunchy scenes and Sreesanth's bollywood debut make up for the major factors in uplifting the story and pulling audiences.
Aksar 2, sequel of 2006 Aksar movie released today and it’s garnering mixed reviews from all over. Starring Gautam Rode, Abhinav Shukla and Zarine Khan in the lead roles, the movie has got a good start and plot overall. The music has been given by the very talented Mithoon and has got quite few good tracks to listen to. This Hindi erotic thriller is directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan and the film is a clear tale of love, conspiracy and deceit.
Looking at the characters, Zareen Khan plays the character of the governess with external motives and is up to the mark in some parts. On the other hand, Gautam Rode has made his debut on the big screen and comes across as a plain not-so-happening character with not too many expressions on his face. Lillete Dubey is playing the aged Madame Khambatta and has delivered a measured performance in this latest Hindi movie. Abhinav Shukla playing Ricky has done his best with his limited character sketch and has played his grey character just perfectly. Cricketer Sreesanth has also made his debut and works just fine without much depth to his character.
Aksar was a semi-musical hit with tracks like Jhalak Dikhla Ja and Soniye which were sung and composed by Himesh Reshammiya. Aksar was one of the most successful films of the year back in 2006 and starred Emraan Hashmi, Dino Morea and Udita Goswami in the lead roles. This movie on the other hand has Zareen Khan flaunting her sensuous avatar in the film and shows a lot of raunchy scenes right from the start.
The director has somehow managed to take the film’s narrative in the right direction, and fill it with intrigue in the first half. But the second half with countless twists and turns is not able to keep viewers hooked on to it. The climax is almost predictable and the end is just not what we would expect with a movie like that. Nevertheless, if you are all in for an erotic thriller this week, go without a thought.
