The Sky is Pink is based on a true story. It is emotional, heart wrenching yet funny story. The movie is explained from Aisha’s point of view. After her death, from beyond the graveyard, a voice echoes telling about her journey. The journey starts with Aisha’s birth. Soon the family gets on a tumultuous ride to heal Aditi.
There are some tender moments in the film that makes the story interesting. The simple moments in The Sky is Pink are directed so beautifully. The narration of the movie is neither too slow nor too fast; it goes at a perfect pace. The emotional moments are well balanced with light hearted scenes.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas is remarkable as a mother, and her acting is setting a benchmark. In every scene, her grief and pain can easily be seen. Farhan Akhtar plays the role of a supportive father and husband. His emotions in the film are not always shown but the feelings within can be seen through his eyes. Zaira Wasim as Aisha with her amazing acting breathes life into every moment.
The movie is well put together, but as the different aspects of the three characters are unfolded, the pace of the screenplay slackens. At times a person wishes that the narrative should have delved further into some particular scenes.
