Shubh Mangal Saavdhan Review
Written by Archit Chawla

It’s the time when movies with unconventional topics and storylines are in the talks, trying to make it big in the Indian film industry. We have dealt with Vicky Donor on sperm donation, Piku on constipation, and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha in the past already. And this time it’s Shubh Mangal Saavdhan to take us by surprise. This latest Hindi movie is centred on serious health subjects not normally associated with the glamour of the industry’s flashy song and dance routines. The movie is directed by RS Prasanna and stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles.

Shubh Mangal Saavdhan Movie Scenes

Meet Mudit and Sugandha

The movie is all about the story of Mudit and Sugandha, played by the two lead actors who happen to fall in love and eventually goes through a series of comical events in their lives. This latest Hindi movie has some brilliantly directed scenes, along with some extremely well-written dialogues to make you laugh continuously through the first half. The second half, although a little serious, still manages to keep you entertained with Ayushmanns and Bhumi’s brilliant performance. The movie sticks to the plot till the very end, without showing any vulgarity as promised and well that’s what we all expect from a Hindi release.

Shubh Mangal Saavdhan Movie Stills

We have seen in the recent past that these movies are part of a trend making male heroes appear more human, in contrast with older Bollywood films where it is common for these macho men to punch rivals through brick walls during elaborate fight scenes with cars flying around. Well, it’s not a movie where you will expect a lot of drama or action, but is definitely a light hearted movie where you can sit, take time to relax and enjoy the amazing performances from the cast and the brilliantly put up screenplay.

Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar

The movie’s music is also a good addition to the balanced act of the team on a whole. Actor Brijendra Kala, who plays the uncle is yet another favourite of the movie. At the same time, the producers and director have not gone overboard with the content. A decent amount of emphasis has been given to Mudit-Suganda’s love story along with the main issue of the movie. This makes up to possible all the top reasons to enjoy this latest Hindi release Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.
