From Sri Devi’s daughter to Ranbir Kapoor’s cousin and from Saif Ali Khan’s daughter to Shahid Kapoor’s brother, we have many star kids and siblings who are all set to make their debuts in tinsel town this year or the next. The latest entry into this club we hear is none other than Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan. Staying away from paparazzi for a long time, the 17 year old Junaid is now all set to make his acting debut, not on silver screen but on stage. Junaid, who holds a degree in theatrics, has been roped in to play the lead in Quasar Padamsee’s play Mother Courage and Her Children, an adaptation of Bertolt Brecht’s play of the same name. The play is based on the idiocy of war and Junaid plays various characters, one of them being Mother Courage’s son Swameed, a virtuous man who is led down by his own naivety.

Junaid-Khan

Junaid has always been fascinated by the various aspects of filmmaking. He often used to acompany his father to the sets of his films. After completing his course in theatrics at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, he returned to India and assisted Rajkumar Hirani for PK, starring his father, Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma. Aamir has always stated that he will support his children if they want to pursue a career in acting, provided they have talent and are deserving. And now, seems like his son Junaid has made his career choice and will debut as a theatre actor very soon.

Interestingly, Junaid himself called Quasar Thakore Padamsee and expressed his interest in being a part of this play. When he was called for an audition, no body knew that was is Aamir’s son. Junaid auditioned just like any other aspiring actor. Padamsee was so impressed with Junaid’s dedication and creativity, that he instantly offered him an important role in the play. Later on, he came to know that Junaid is superstar Aamir Khan’s son. The said play will be staging at NCPA on August 19 and 20 and at St. Andrews Auditorium on September 9 and 10.

They say, like father like son! So should we say another Perfectionist Khan is in the making?
