Meghna Gulzar, who has made quite a buzz in the industry with films like Filhaal and Talvar is all ready to shoot her next directorial, Raazi. The Hindi movie will feature the much acclaimed Alia Bhatt who came up with Dear Zindagi and Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya this year paired up with the Masaan actor Vicky Kaushal. Meghna, on the other hand, is the daughter of celebrated writer and lyricist Gulzar and veteran actress Raakhee.

Raazi narrates the story of a Kashmiri girl played by Alia who is married to a Pakistani Army officer played by Vicky. Her objective is to spy for Indian intelligence and gain invaluable information during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. This espionage thriller is based on Harinder Sikka’s novel Calling Sehmat and will be shot in Punjab, Kashmir, and Mumbai majorly. The shoot for this movie has already started and Alia Bhatt has been all excited for her role. Alia, known for experimenting with her choices, be it Highway, Udta Punjab or Dear Zindagi, Alia has shown some endless potential for roles and will be doing a period drama for the first time in her life.

Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal’s upcoming film Raazi, has been hitting headlines ever since its announcement and has a great chance to be a blockbuster. This will be the first time that both of these actors will be sharing screen space and have already got a sense of their characters in the workshops conducted by Meghna last week. The film is being produced by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions. The excitement about the project can be seen in his social media announcements. As far as the story and casting go, it will be an interesting mix.
