If you’re pretty unfamiliar with the word dystopia, you might want to catch up with it first if you are planning to peep in the future set up with this latest hollywood movie Blade Runner 2049 . An imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad, typically an absolutist one is the thing director Denis Villeneuve is putting forward to us in this movie. The movie as the name suggests is set up in the future in the year 2049 and consists of Ryan Gosling, Dave Bautista, Jarewd Leto and Harrison Ford in the lead roles.
While so many sequels are content to cheaply knock off their origin stories, “Blade Runner 2049” is a sequel to 1982 movie Blade Runner which was directed by Ridley Scott. This one on the other hand is made very respectfully and tries to deepen the original mythology authored by Philip K. Dick in the prequel. The movie is set in the future, thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K , unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what is left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years now.
Ryan’s character in the film ‘Officer K’ has to find Deckard, and the last trailer tells us why. Ever since the first Blade Runner, the big question about Ford’s character has been whether or not he too is a replicant or a humanoid. This hotly anticipated movie will be releasing tomorrow and filled with shades of everything from Shakespeare to Limitless to Planet Of The Apes, there are glimpses in the trailer which makes the movie too serious but it still leaves one unsettled with its kaleidoscopic vision of nightmares to come.
All the unanswered questions will be answered finally which were lingering in the minds of the viewers from more than three decades. Check out the movie and do post your reviews.
