The night of stars and superstars is about to unveil! One of the most-awaited and loved Hindi Film Award ceremonies, Filmfare Awards, sponsored by Jio will be held on 14th of January at NSCI Dome, Mumbai. 62nd Filmfare Awards Night is one of the biggest events of Bollywood and its a dream for every movie buff to witness their stars walking the red carpet, receiving awards and performing on stage. Filmfare understands the craze and emotions of Bollywood buffs, so last year it gave the chance to all the fans to watch their favorite star right in front of their eyes receiving awards and performing on stage. For the first time ever, fans witnessed the grandeur and opulence of Filmfare Awards live. For the first time ever, Filmfare was a ticketed event. This year as well, you can watch the Award ceremony live at NSCI Dome.

Introduced in 1954 by the Times group, Filmfare Awards are one of the oldest film events in our country that has been honoring the artistic and technical brilliance in Hindi cinema over the years. Apparently, the same year, National Awards for Films were also presented for the first time. However, unlike National Awards where the Awardees are decided by a panel appointed by the Govt of India, Filmfare Awards are voted by both the public and a committee of film industry experts.

This year, the Awards night will be hosted by none other than Shah Rukh Khan. The nominations for the Awards have already been announced and the movies like Udta Punjab, Neerja, Sarabjit, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Sultan dominates the list. While the three Khans, Shah Rukh Khan (for Fan), Salman Khan (for Sultan) and Aamir Khan (for Dangal) will fight for the Best Actor Awards, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (for Sarabjit), Alia Bhatt (for Udta Punjab and Dear Zindagi),Anushka Sharma (for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil), Sonam Kapoor (for Neerja) and Vidya Balan (for Kahani 2) will fight for Best Actress of 2016. For the best film of the year, the nominations are Dangal, Kapoor & Sons, Neerja, Pink, Sultan and Udta Punjab.
