It’s always a treat to watch two talented artists together on screen! And there’s no denying the fact that Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal are two of the finest actors we have in the Indian film industry today. Meghna Gulzar is bringing both these actors together for her next film, based on Harinder Sikka’s novel, ‘Calling Sehmat’. The film is called Raazi and the movie will be shot in Punjab and Mumbai. The film revolves around a Kashmiri spy played by Alia Bhatt who gets married to a Pakistani Army Officer, played by Vicky Kaushal, who provides Indian Intelligence with invaluable information during the 1971 Indo-Pak war and saves the lives of scores of Indian soldiers. It would be interesting to watch this new & refreshing jodi on the block!
Keeping the plot of the movie in mind, Meghna wanted to shoot the film in Kashmir and she got the required permissions for it, but just a few days back, she was refused rights to shoot in the valley, given the state of unrest in the region. Since Kashmir plays an important role in the film, it has been decided to recreate Kashmir in studios of Mumbai itself. Knowing Meghna Gulzar and her obsession with perfection, a few local Kashmiri workers were flown down to the city to recreate every element of the valley in the studio. To give an authentic Kashmiri feel and look to home, local artworks and curios will be flown down to Mumbai. While all these arrangements are going on and will take time, the unit will kick start the shooting in Punjab. After Mumbai and Punjab, the team will head towards Delhi for the last leg of the shoot.
