Ayan Mukherji is bringing several exceptional artistes together in his ambitious project Brahmastra. Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and TV personality Mouni Roy will create a fantasy drama, envisioned in three installments, first of which will release in 2019.
Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Ranbir Kapoor were recently in Bulgaria to shoot the first schedule of the film. Director Ayan Mukherji referred to ancient Indian wisdom, power and energies to sum up his title ‘Brahmastra’.
Amitabh Bachchan is yet to shoot his scenes, most of which will have him interact with the lead Ranbir Kapoor. While the two have never been in the same frame, Amitabh Bachchan has closely watched Ranbir Kapoor as an Assistant Director on the sets of ‘Black’.
He would intently train the little girl Ayesha (specially-abled child) between the shots. His commitment and coaching carved a special place in Amitabh Bachchan’s memory. He believes Ranbir’s does less on screen, yet does enough and is God gifted.
Amitabh Bachchan considers self fortunate to work with the father and son duo in the same year. He shall be re-uniting with Rishi Kapoor after 27 years for their forthcoming film 102 Not Out. Bachchan concludes, “Rishi is an accomplished artiste; the choice of him playing the other role was good. Working with him is always a joy.”
