Old is gold and Bollywood is living proof of it. Since the past year, Bollywood has been on a spree of recreating hit songs from the 90s; first ‘Tamma Tamma again’ and then ‘Hawa Hawaii.’ Next in line is an iconic crowd favorite of all times, ‘Ek Do Teen.’

Starring Bollywood’s dhak dhak girl Madhuri Dixit, the song is originally from the super hit movie Tezaab. ‘Ek Do Teen’ is one of Madhuri’s most entertaining as well as famous songs. The song fetched Saroj Khan and Alka Yagnik their first Filmfare awards for best choreography and best playback singer, respectively.

The song is all set to be recreated in the upcoming Tiger Shroff – Disha Patani starrer, Baaghi 2. And doing the honours is none other than the Sri Lankan beauty, Jacqueline Fernandez. The first look of the song is out now.

In the first look, Jacqueline is striking a familiar pose, awaiting her beloved. Designer Manish Malhotra has tried to keep the look of the costumes as similar to the original as possible.

Often stars are under the pressure of recreating something that is so iconic. Somehow, every time one mentions ‘Ek Do Teen,’ it is difficult not picturing the dancing diva and the catchy choreography.

When speaking of the song, Jacqueline was quoted saying:

“That was my first stress, that how can we recreate something so iconic, like is it even possible? It made it lot easier for me when I understood that it is not possible. We’re not trying to match up to what Madhuri Dixit did. We are not trying to match up to what Saroj (Khan) ji did. We are honestly fans, big, big fans of their work. This is honestly, more than anything, a tribute to an amazing and iconic number that they gave to us.”
