Yes! You read it right. Prateik Babbar, who may have stayed away from the big screen for few years now, has been roped in by Sajid Nadiadwala as a baddie in his upcoming flick, Baaghi 2. He is starting his second innings in Bollywood with the role of a bad guy. Not much is revealed about his role, but the actor will be donning a never-before-seen avatar in this film, the shooting of which will commence from next month. Baaghi 2 also features Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani in the lead roles.
Prateik Babbar made his Bollywood debut with Aamir Khan’s Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, which also starred Imraan Khan and Genelia D’Souza. He played the role of Genelia’s brother in it. Even with limited screen space in this film, Prateik made a mark for himself in the industry with this film. This was followed by Kiran Rao’s directorial debut Dhobi Ghat, Prakash Jha’s hard-hitting social drama Aarakshan , Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s musical comedy My Friend Pinto, Manish Mundra’s comedy drama Umrika which premièred at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and Manish Tiwary’s 2013 Romeo-Juliet tragic romance, Issaq, before he took a break from B-Town to explore theatre.
Incidentally, Tiger and Prateik are childhood friends and they will be seen sharing the screen together for the first time. Sajid Nadiadwala is known to introduce new talents in the film industry. In the past, he launched Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon in Heropanti. This year, along with reviving the career of Prateik Babbar, he will also be launching Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan in the film industry. Disha Patani will mark her debut as a leading heroine with Baaghi 2 , which will be directed by Ahmad Khan.

Baaghi, which was released in 2016, turned out to be a super-hit and Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor were much-praised for their mature performances. Baaghi 2 will see Tiger opposite his rumoured girlfriend, Disha Patani, for the first time on screen. With Prateik Babbar as the baddie and Tiger and Disha in the lead roles, Baaghi 2 seems promising. The film is expected to hit the theatre early next year.
