India’s third highest grossing film of all time, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is all set to release in China next week. The movie would be released by EStars Media while the sales are being handled by a subsidiary of producer Arka Media Works. EStars Media had earlier handled Baahubali: The Beginning.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion had smashed all earlier records to become the first film in Bollywood to cross the 500-crore mark. Directed by S.S. Rajamouli and starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia, the movie has made an estimate of $131 million.
Recently Indian films have been faring extremely well in China, with movies like Dangal, Secret Superstar, Bhajrangi Bhaijaan and Hindi Medium. Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar has made a revenue of $118 million while Dangal made a revenue of $195 million.
Indian films have been found to be extremely relatable to the Chinese audiences. With the cultures and family values of both countries closely related, it is no surprise that Indian movies are finding a wide audience in China.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion had done excellent business in Japan, earning a revenue of $ 1.3 million already. Will Baahubali 2: The Conclusion dethrone Dangal to be the highest ever grossing Indian film in China? Only time will tell.
