Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi is undoubtedly one of Kangana Ranaut’s most ambitious projects as she plays the legendary Rani Laxmibai in this period drama. Directed by Krish, the film has been confirmed to release on January 25, 2019. This release date will also be shared by Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30 where he plays the role of Bihar mathematician Anand Kumar.
In light of the controversy surrounding their names with regards to their very public disagreement, it will be interesting to see how their promotions for the film goes and how their films battle it out at the box office.
In Manikarnika Kangana takes on the role of the powerful warrior queen Rani Laxmibai who is also known as Jhansi ki Rani. The film was originally slated to release on April 27, 2018 but was reportedly postponed to August 15. However, Zee Studios and producer Kamal Jain have now decided to release the film on the eve of Republic Day, next year. It has also been reported that the teaser of the film will be revealed on August 15.
On the other hand, Super 30 will bring Hrithik back on the silver screen after a two-year hiatus. The film is a biopic on mathematician Anand Kumar who teaches 30 meritorious and talented candidates from economically backward sections each year for the entrance examination for the Indian Institute of Technology.
The films do belong to two different genres which makes it unlikely for them to clash in terms of audiences. But will they compete for collections at the box office? Let’s wait and watch!
