Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor walked the ramp for designer Manish Malhotra at The Walk of Mijwan in Mumbai on April 19 2018. Ever since the internet has been raving about the same. The event was organised by Shabana Azmi’s Mijwan Welfare Society and saw a large number of other Bollywood celebrities in attendance.
The NGO was started by Shabana Azmi and her late father Kaifi Azmi. The NGO has progressed thoroughly in recent years and it aims to empower the women of rural India. Shabana Azmi organises an annual grand fashion show every year that showcases the extraordinary craftwork made by the young girls of Mijwan, Uttar Pradesh. It also happens to be the actress’ ancestral village At the end of the show, Ranbir shared what empowerment of women means to him. He said that he strongly believes towards achieving equal secular rights for women. The speech got him a lot of
applause from the audience. Many Bollywood celebrities also praised the actor for taking a stand on Women empowerment.
Meanwhile, Ranbir and Deepika have worked together in several movies before. However, it is after Tamasha that actors reunited together on stage. Both the actors looked phenomenal in their traditional outfits. Deepika was a stunner as usual and Ranbir look more dapper than ever. Deepika’s lehenga was created in association with the Mijwan welfare. It would be safe to say that both the actors stole the limelight with their electrifying chemistry.
