The last week has been nothing short of eventful for Shahid Kapoor’s family. He not only won the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award for Padmaavat but also announced the arrival of a new member in their family. The actor also couldn’t stop gushing about his brother, Ishaan Khatter’s performance in Beyond the clouds.

Since a few days, rumours about Mira Rajput’s second pregnancy have been doing the rounds. Amidst all the speculations, Mira took to Instagram to confirm the same. Mira posted an adorable picture of Misha smiling next to a sketch of five balloons with “Big sister” written on top. Reportedly, Shahid was quoted saying that it was his and Mira’s mutual decision to share the news with everyone.

While fans and family of the actor were thrilled and delighted about this news, him winning a prestigious title made it all the more better. Shahid Kapoor won the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award (Best Actor) for his ground-breaking and phenomenal performance in Padmaavat. On winning the award Shahid said:

“This is my first award for Padmaavat this year, so I am really very happy and I would like to dedicate this award to my wife, Mira because she tolerated me for a year during this period and without her, I wouldn’t have been able to do this film. So I am very thankful to her.”
Shahid also took the opportunity to talk about his brother’s debut film, Beyond the clouds that is directed by Majid Majidi. A critically acclaimed movie, it stars Ishaan Khatter and Malavika Mohanan in lead roles. Shahid thoroughly praised Ishaan saying that he is given a spectacular performance and is happy to see the love his brother is getting.

“He is very deserving of all the applause and appreciation; he is a very talented boy. Of course he just started but he has lots to learn and a long way to go. He has to put his head down, with humility and work hard. He is getting good opportunities to work with people like Majid Majidi and now Shashank Khaitan, I think he should consider himself fortunate.”
