“Babumoshai Zindagi badi honi chahiye lambi nahi”.

Crowned as the Bollywood’s first official superstar, Rajesh Khanna had a very marked personality. He was never considered as the most handsome man in the industry but his charm was just beyond resistance. With just a couple of days left for the year to end, it is our Bollywood’s original superstar Rajesh Khanna’s birthday today. Rajesh Khanna was born on December 29, 1942 and would have been 74 today had he not passed away in 2012. Fondly known as Kaka, has left behind an epic legacy of films that make us cry, songs that we continue to hum even today and cinematic moments that we will continue to cherish forever. This day also marks Rajesh Khanna’s daughter Twinkle Khanna’s birthday. The superstar, who gave 15 consecutive hits from 1969-71, shares his birthday with his elder daughter Twinkle Khanna, also famous as Mrsfunnybones and married to the megastar, Akshay Kumar.

This famous Father-Daughter duo in Bollywood has had a splendid career in the Indian Cinema. Rajesh Khanna managed to gather the biggest, maddest fan following across all of India with a string of Bollywood hits like Aradhna, Aan Milo Sajana, Safar, Kati Patang, Andaz, Hathi Mera Saathi, Dushman, Amar Prem, Roti, Do Raaste, Anand, Itefaq, Daag, Sachaa Jhutha, Aap Ki Kasam and Prem Kahani. He was supported by the euphonious and talented Kishore Kumar and together they recorded and filmed some of Bollywood’s most memorable songs that stand strong even today in times of Atif Aslam and Arijit Singh.

Twinkle Khanna, who celebrates her 42nd birthday today, shared a throwback picture with her dad on twitter with a special message, “I see you, in my reflection off the back of a gleaming spoon, in a gesture my sister makes, in the arch of my son’s eyebrows- I still see you.” After her last movie in 2001- ‘Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega’ — a reluctant actor — has found fame as an author and was India’s highest-selling female writer of 2015. She also won the Crossword Book Award 2016 for MrsFunnybones. The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad her second book has received rave reviews and is a collection of short fiction features sensitive, humorous and eminently readable stories.

Now when everything has changed, acting has taken up a different course and we live in a world where the movie’s success is measured by the crores money it has gathered. Rajesh Khanna has given us some of the finest classic Bollywood movies and songs to cherish for a lifetime and we miss his onscreen performances, unique style, popular songs and the best dialogue delivery. On this note, we wish Twinkle Khanna a very Happy Birthday Rajesh Khanna’s birth anniversary. May the force be with you!
