Sonakshi Sinha birthday

Being the daughter/son of an actor/politician has always been an added pressure. The pressure of carrying forward the legacy of family and also at the same time maintaining a clean public image is not an easy task. One actress who has managed to do both very comfortably is the star daughter of Poonam and Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha. Even before making her debut in Bollywood, Sonakshi grabbed the limelight because she was scheduled to make her debut cast opposite none other than Salman Khan in the blockbuster hit Dabangg. It was then just a matter of time that she made the whole nation dance on her “Mast Mast Do Nain“ in Dabangg.

Be it her weight or forehead, Sonakshi has always been slammed by the critics as a “non-Bollywood- material“. But proving them all wrong just in the span of three to four years, the lady managed to work with the industry’s A-listers like Salman, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn. In fact, her debut film, Dabangg in 2010, opposite superstar Salman Khan went on to become the highest grossing film of the year and she received good reviews from critics for her performance. She also won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for her performance in this movie.

In a career spanning seven years, Sonakshi Sinha has belted out some brilliant performances, and perhaps the one that brought her immense critical appreciation is Vikramaditya Motwane’s Lootera opposite Ranveer Singh. The film might not be a huge hit at the box office, but Sonakshi’s brilliant portrayal of Pakhi Roy Chaudhary in the film got her much praise. In the same year, she appeared in films like “Once Upon a Time In Mumbai Dobaara!“, “Akira“ and “Noor ” to further cement her position as one of the leading ladies of Bollywood.

No matter how much she is ridiculed or criticised for her looks, weight or acting skills, there is no denying the fact that she is the box office queen and considered as one of the leading actresses of Bollywood. Apart from being a good actor, she is undoubtedly one of the most daring women in the film industry today. She knows how to shun trolls and people who fat shame her! She has proved time and again that you can sign her off but can’t ignore her.
