Ishaan Khattar on Comparison with Older Brother Shahid Kapoor

Ishaan Khattar

Ishaan Khattar might bag all the debut awards this year, given his amazing debut into the Hindi Film industry. The young lad has impressed maverick Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi in his latest outing Beyond the Clouds and is nurturing his talent under the mentorship of commercial filmmaker Karan Johar in the upcoming official Marathi remake ‘Sairat’ re-titled as ‘Dhadak’ opposite Sridevi’s daughter Janhavi Kapoor.

Briefly seen in Udta Punjab, rapping to the title song, Ishaan assisted his brother on the sets to gauge the nuances of film making. On the obvious comparison with Shahid Kapoor, Ishaan strictly believes his half brother Shahid has been around for longer, and has a significant body of work. He feels they aren’t competing, but working in the same profession as team mates.

Ishaan is quite impressive with his media interactions; the boy tactfully avoids any irrelevant questions and heads straight to the point. At a recent event, he dismissed questions about his workout regimen, and his family, sticking only to the discussion of his upcoming films.

Mira Rajput is known to be extremely fond of Shahid’s sibling, being in the same age group, they get along like a house on fire. Shahid is proud of his brother’s initial few achievements, he adds:

“He has worked sincerely and he has a lot of himself in this character. He is very fortunate to be working with Mr Majid Majidi, I want people to see it. Let people see it and let people decide.”
