Karan Johar has always been a maestro in producing movies with an ensemble cast. Karan Johar fans are in for an amazing news as he will bring back the pair of Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit back onto the celluloid after 25 years.
Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is slated to produce Kalank which would be directed by Abhishek Varman, who previously directed 2 States. KJo took to Twitter to share this news:

Earlier Sridevi was supposed to star in Kalank, but in the wake of Sridevi’s sudden demise, Madhuri Dixit has stepped into her shoes. Apart from Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt, the movie stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapoor.
Kalank is said to be Karan Johar’s dream project which was conceptualized by his late father Yash Chopra over fifteen years ago. The movie would be set in the 40s.The story for the epic drama has been written by Shibani Bathija while Abhishek Varman has penned the screenplay. The movie would also witness the collaboration of Bollywood’s biggest production houses – Dharma Productions, Fox Star Studios and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
Earlier, rumours had surfaced that the movie would be titled Shidhat. Karan Johar dismissed these rumors through a tweet.
