After battling cancer bravely, Manisha Koirala returns to celluloid with this Sunaina Bhatnagar film called Dear Maya! Considered as one of the most beautiful actors of her generation, Manisha will be seen like never before in this beautiful film. She has been working on it on quietly for some time now, so when the teaser of the film released a few days ago, she made sure it made some noise. And it did. The 30-second teaser is just so arresting, to say the least. It shows a woman (Manisha) with wrinkles, anguish and pain on her face, standing by the window, looking out in despair. It ends with her fading into darkness.

Dear Maya traces the story Maya, who lives as a recluse, locked away in a bungalow, till one day, two teenage girls decide to bring some happiness in her dark and sad life. The girls send a love letter to Maya by the name of a fictitious suitor, Ved. Their intention is to brighten things up for Maya, but when May sets out in search of her secret admirers, they get worried. Dear Maya is all about finding love and hope when everything is taken away from you. It is a beautiful film with a strong message, that no matter how much hatred comes your way or how much heartbreak you suffer, you should not lose hope because you never know what happens next in life.
While Dear Maya is all set to hit the theatres on June 2nd , there’s another reason to rejoice for Koirala fans. Manisha will be seen playing Nargis Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic of Sanjay Dutt, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor. This film is also scheduled to release later this year. On casting Manisha Koirala for the role of Nargis Dutt, Hirani once said in an interview that the main reason he signed the actress was because just like Nargis, she too had suffered cancer and hence, she would be able to bring out the pain of that experience convincingly. For Manisha as well, this role is very special; she gets this opportunity to play legendary actress, Nargis Dutt, on screen.
Before Manisha Koirala brings back fond memories of actress Nargis Dutt on screen, she will enthrall us with a warm and fuzzy embrace of Maya in the film Dear Maya.
