After the high-octane action spy thriller Force 2, John Abraham is back on the big screen with the historical drama, Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran. The actor will not only star as the lead of the film, but he has also produced it along with KriArj Entertainment. In the past, the actor’s productions have fared well with the audience, with movies like Vicky Donor and Madras Café receiving critical acclaim. After much controversy, Parmanu is set to hit theatres this week, and John Abraham cannot contain his relief.
The movie is based on the nuclear test conducted by Indian Army in Pokhran, Rajasthan in 1998, under the leadership of India’s future President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. John Abraham is set to play Captain Ashwat Rana of the Armed Forces, while Diana Penty will take on the role of his fellow captain, Ambalika. Boman Irani and Vikas Kumar will also feature in the film.
The release date of the film has been pushed since its initial release of January 26, 2018. To avoid clash with the magnum opus Padmaavat, the film was later slated to release in the following month. However, due to conflicts among the producers, the release of the film was pushed even further. Now, as John Abraham quotes, his baby is all set to come out this Friday, on the 25 th of May, 2018 – four months after its initial release date.
