Television actor Mouni Roy, famously known for her tv- series Naagin, is making her Bollywood debut in the most remarkable way starring alongside actor Akshay Kumar in the period-drama film Gold. The movie is being directed by Reema Kagti of Talaash fame and is being produced by Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment.
Mouni Roy has reportedly wrapped up the shooting of the film and spoke about it at the Lux Golden Rose Awards. When asked what it was like to share screen space with one of the fittest actors in Bollywood Mouni said, “(It was) wonderful. He is so sincere in every shot. First of all, I want to say that you feel so lucky to just stand in the same frame as him and every day on the film set, I have learned something. I have immense love and respect for that man. I am so glad to be a part of the film.”
At the red carpet event, she was also asked about her rumored signing for the upcoming Ranbir Kapoor and Alia-Bhatt starrer Brahmastra. While addressing the rumors she didn’t deny it as well saying cryptically, “We will cross the bridge when we come to it.”
Gold is a biopic based on the life of hockey player Balbir Singh Sr., who was on the team that won the first Olympic for India as a free nation in 1948. The movie is expected to hit the screens on Independence Day, 15 August 2018.
