Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles faced unlikely consequences of production delay, creative differences and has now fallen out with the former producer Prernaa Arora from KriArj Entertainment.
The shoot came to a standstill in Feb, 2018 with the growing differences between the concerned producers. However, with the backing of Ronnie Screwvala, the production will resume by April End, speeding into its second schedule.
Ronnie Screwala has monetarily compensated Producers Bhushan Kumar and Prernaa Arora to a sum of 14 CR and reimbursed 8 CR to Ekta Kapoor and officially taken over the ambitious project. He has settled the former producers’ investment, and amicably settled the matter.
It is believed, Ronnie Screwvala, loved the shot footage directed by Abhishek Kapoor, and decided to helm the project. It is an admirable love story based upon the unfortunate 2013 floods that hit the pious place of Kedarnath, thus basing the plot on true life events.
The film is likely to release early next year, before which Sara Ali Khan will make her official bollywood debut in Simbba. This is the second collaboration between Abhishek Kapoor and Ronnie Screwvala after their successful feature film, Kai Po Che, which also starred Sushant Singh Rajput.
Abhishek Kapoor added, “I feel invigorated that he has stepped in and reinforced his faith in me. Just being in the same room with Ronnie is a privilege, making a movie with him is an honor.”
