Chronicling around his concert tour across 14 cities in America, he is coming out with ‘ One Heart: The A.R. Rahman Concert Film’ tommorrow which pays tribute to Rahman’s 25 years in the music industry, featuring various interviews, concert glimpses and rehearsals. It features him accompanied by artistes such as Ranjit Barot and Haricharan. Conceptualised as a tribute to the Mozart of Madras completing 25 years in the film industry, it has released in India today and running across all the major theatres in the country.
Rahman’s musical career took off when he composed for Mani Ratnam’s movie Roja which starred Arvind Swamy and Madhoo in the lead. Ever since, he has been the most sought-after musician in the country for over two decades now. Some of his memorable compositions have been in films like Bombay, Dil Se, Taal, Lagaan, Swades, Guru, Rockstar, and Slumdog Millionaire. There was another motivation for Rahman; the creative vision of the film is an altruistic one and all the proceeds will go to the ‘One Heart Foundation’ to help support senior musicians and their families.
Well we have seen a lot of movies/docudramas in the past made on the lives of sportspersons, musicians and actors, this will be one hell of an addition to the list. We hope that this movie releasing tomorrow makes a bigger impact than expected and reaches a wider audience and make them fall in love with Rahman’s music all over again.
