We live in the age of Superheros. And by superheros, we just don’t mean Superman, Batman Or Hulk, we refer to people who have extraordinary capabilities. People who are normal but are able to perform and achieve some unbelievable feat. And here we are talking about one of the same superhero. Padman, Akshay Kumar‘s upcoming hindi movie has finally come out with it’s trailer and it’s going to turn the ride of yet another social taboo on the other side. Helmed by R Balki, the movie deals with the social issue of menstrual hygiene and the use of sanitary pads for women.
The trailer starts off with a narration in the heavy voice of none other than Amitabh Bachchan, referring PadMan as India’s answer to American and British superheroes. Then it gives a close look at Akshay’s character working hard on his idea of creating a sanitary pad and trying it out himself and even checking for leaks while riding a bicycle. When pitching the idea of a sanitary napkin to his wife Radhika Apte fails, Sonam Kapoor in the role of a social worker keeps him in line. He has stepped into the shoes of national hero Arunachalam Muruganantham, who is the inventor of low-cost sanitary napkins for women in rural areas.
Akshay Kumar has earlier said about his film- “I didn’t want to make a documentary. I wanted to make a commercial film so people can see it. It’s a film you can take your children to, even though it talks about sanitary pads. It’s a universal subject. Nobody has ever tried to touch this subject.” The movie is supposed to release on January 26, 2018 and is eagerly awaited by his fans across the globe. He also shared the trailer on his twitter account this morning and gave the audiences a nice look on his much awaited movie. Take a loook-
