The most controversial and talked about movie of last year Padmavati, now called Padmavat, has finally got a release date now. After a wait of almost two months, and endless screenings and cuts, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus is all set to see the light of the day. Bollywood is in awe that Padmavati, which has been making headlines due to its plot line since the last year, is set to release on January 25, the same day as the Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor starrer PadMan.
If one goes by the speculations going around the corner, the film was earlier supposed to release on February 09, along with Anushka Sharma’s Pari and Luv Runjan’s Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. But now if we go to believe the news everywhere and the commotion in b-town, the movie is going to clash on the eve of Republic day 2018. The Padmavat cast includes Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles with Aditi Rao Hydari in a supporting role.
Recently, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) decided to give the film a U/A certification along with some 6 cuts and suggested to change the film’s title to Padmavat. We witnessed the same clash last year with Kaabil and Raees and now it will be a thing to see now which movie make it big out of the two- Padmavat or Padman!
