The Race film series has to be one of the most successful ones in Bollywood. The franchise, which is known for high-octane action and unlimited entertainment, keeps getting bigger and better with each part. While the first movie starred Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif, the next one also featured John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Jacqueline Fernandez. Both the films were commercially successful and even the critics weren’t very harsh in their reviews.
Now the third part which is titled Race 3 is going to hit theatres for Eid. The film stars Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol, Saqib Saleem, Daisy Shah, Anil Kapoor and Freddy Daruwala. While the first two parts of the series were helped by Abbas-Mustan, Race 3 is directed by Remo D’Souza. It is reported that the Burmawalla brothers were replaced after they delivered a dud with Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon.
Eid is a very auspicious occasion for Salman Khan as all his films that released during the festival have been blockbusters. It all started with Wanted and was followed up with Bodyguard, Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan. Unfortunately, his last Eid release – Tubelight – wasn’t as successful as the rest so Bhai definitely needs to deliver this year. Race 3 was supposed to clash with Rajinikanth’s Kaala at the box-office but that is now releasing a week earlier. So will Race 3 manage to break all box-office records? Well, we will have to wait until June 15 to find out.
