Veteran actor Anupam Kher’s upcoming movie Ranchi Diaries tells the story of small town folks through the eyes of a feisty character called Gudiya and her exploits with her friends. The movie is directed and written by Sattwik Mohanty (of My Friend Pinto fame) and is produced by Coconut Motion Pictures and Actor Prepares.
From the looks of the trailer, the hour and a half long movie starts off quite simply but turns into a bit of a thriller. It is the story of Gudiya (Soundarya Sharma), a small town girl, who dreams of making it big quite like International Pop sensations Shakira and even Justin Bieber. Her talent, however, draws unwanted attention from the local Mafia, Thakur Bhaiya (Anupam Kher).In an effort to get away from the Mafia kingpin Gudiya elopes with her childhood lover Manish (Himansh Kohli). Everything isn’t hunky dory and Gudiya finds herself embroiled in a ruckus and resorts to the desperate measure of plotting to rob a bank! She plans the heist along with her friends but they get caught in crosshairs with the police. The movie takes us through all of the drama and thrill of this entertaining story.
The newly launched first song of the movie is called Fashion Queen and gives us a glimpse into the life of the glamorous character Gudiya, who dreams of making it big. The song has been written and composed by Nickk and features a rap by him on the song. Raahi has lent her voice for the peppy number. The song was launched by actress Kangana Ranaut, who was all praise for the movie and the lead actress of the film Soundarya who plays Gudiya. Soundarya too was excited to see Kangana at the launch as she has always looked up to her and related to her as they both hail from small towns and have made their own path into Bollywood.
Celebrities Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan and others have also praised the movie Ranchi Diaries on social media and wished Anupam Kher the best which has generated a lot of buzz about the film. Ranchi Diaries comes to theatres this October 5th
