Its been a while that Padmavati has been surrounded by all the hoopla and controversies and it just doesn’t stop. In a country like India where the audiences are too emotional and sensitive, it has become a thing of deep concern to make films freely and put them forward in front of the people to watch it. Recently Prasoon Joshi, Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification in India has invited the Mewar royal, Vishvaraj Singh, to be a part of the proposed committee to assist it in the process of certifying Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial.
He has confessed that he will be happy to meet him but has also said- “I have very strong reservations about seeing the film as to my mind it will open a Pandora’s box of new and pointless discussions. Owing to the manner in which the film’s production has progressed from its very inception and seeing to how related matters have developed, I would insist on a formal clarification of the points raised by me before I make a decision regarding being on the Committee.”
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum- opus Padmavati, which features Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles has been the talk of the last few months for distorting the historical facts in the film and hurting the sentiments of certain Rajput communities. The original release date of the movie was December 01, but has been postponed to February 9 as of now.
