There are a lot of speculations going around the alleged couple of Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra, who made their debuts in Bollywood with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year back in 2012. These actors represent the young generation in the Indian film industry and are all set to share some screen space once more in the Bhatt Camp’s Sadak sequel. Yes you heard it right, Sadak, which featured Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt back in 1991 is going to get a sequel soon. Though the director for Sadak 2 is yet to be finalised, Vishesh Films might go with their favourite director Mohit Suri for this one also.
Mahesh Bhatt, who directed the original film, has been working on the story for three months. Talking about Sanjay Dutt and his character in the film Sadak 2, the former director says, “Innumerable discussions over a period of two-three weeks showed me how the once-vulnerable boy from Naam had matured into a deeper human being. Sanjay who was 32 when we made the original, comes back as a 54-year-old Ravi into the 21st-century world that is collapsing in front of his eyes, where the distinction between the house and the Sadak is fast disappearing. The story has the emotional connect of the films I made back in the 90s which brought a lump to the throats of the viewer. I could see that in the reaction of those present at the narration. They were visibly moved.”
Sanjay Dutt, after completing his jail sentence has just one movie, Bhoomi, which was an apparent flop at the box office. Meanwhile for Siddharth, his latest film Ittefaq released last week along with Thor: Ragnarok and is doing well at the box office, but hasn’t gone big. Whereas Alia, who just finished Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi is busy prepping for Ayan Mukherjee’s period drama Brahmastra along with Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachhan. These actors might be young as compared to the Munna Bhai actor but are surely going to give the audiences a fresh look in Sadak 2.
